Journey

The road to getting published!

Step 1 - Determine the Stage of Editing

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing is when you look at the bigger picture, which means there's two areas to review:
1. Plot, character development, setting, etc.
2. Layout of the text (moving chapters around or adding/removing large pieces of text)
This is the first stage of editing, but you can still schedule a call with me, and I will refer you to a developmental editor that I think is best suited to your needs and personality.

 1. Grammar
2. Style
3. Consistency
This is the second stage of editing and is my area of expertise. Contact me to learn more and begin this journey together.

Quote Factors

There are two things that will affect the pricing:
1. Length of the text
2. Amount of editing needed

Determining the Price

Once you give me the length of your text (in words, not pages) and I've reviewed your sample text, I will give you the quote.

Weekly Reports

I will send you a report every week to update you on my progress and for you to review the edited text.

Weekly Meetings

After you've had a chance to read the report and edited text, we will meet to discuss the changes and any concerns or questions you have.

Congrats!

You've completed the editing stage of your short story/book! You are so close to getting your work published. On our final call (until your next project...) we will discuss the last steps for getting your work published.
I will give you some key tips and refer you to whoever else you need to work with to get published.
